01 What a team page covers
A team page on the desk covers one squad at a time: ownership group, head coach, captain, likely XI (when available), the bowler-batter mix and the form trend across the last five fixtures. The page is rebuilt whenever the franchise announces a squad update.
We do not cover trialists or net bowlers. If a player has not been named in the franchise’s official squad for the active season, they do not appear.
02 How we pick the lead stories
Each team page carries a “lead story” strip at the top — the single most important context for that franchise on the day. Lead stories are picked by the editor on the desk, not by an algorithm.
Common patterns: a captaincy change, an injury list that crosses the threshold of three frontline players, a confirmed retention or release window, or a venue flip that materially changes the team’s expected XI.
03 Likely XI
A team’s likely XI is published from the moment the franchise announces the squad and is updated when the toss happens. We never publish a likely XI without sourcing it to either the franchise’s official communication or to the head coach’s pre-match presser.
Where the XI is genuinely uncertain — and it often is, on the morning of a fixture — we say so. An annotated “uncertain” tag with the open positions is more useful to a fantasy reader than a guess dressed as a forecast.
04 Form, fixture density and net-run-rate
For league-stage fixtures we carry a net-run-rate strip and a fixture-density note. Density matters for fantasy teams that hold franchises with two-fixture windows: a two-match week on a five-day turn-around is the most accurate single predictor of captain-pick fatigue and rotation risk.

05 Cross-team reads
Each team page cross-links the franchise against the fixtures that matter for the next ten days. The link goes to the Matches page, filtered by team.
Where a franchise shares players with an overseas league, the shared squad members are listed at the bottom of the team page with their next fixture on the Players index.

Do you cover all ten IPL franchises?
Yes — all ten are covered. Each franchise page has been published and is updated as the season progresses.
How do you handle mid-season trading windows?
When a trade window opens we update the affected team pages within 24 hours of the official franchise announcement.
Are overseas leagues covered?
BBL, SA20, CPL, ILT20 and the Hundred have brief franchise coverage during their window. Off-season the pages remain as archive reads.
